Lawn flamingos put up in support of girl with Leukemia stolen in Henniker


HENNIKER — Someone has stolen plastic flamingos that were purchased to show support for a girl with Leukemia from near a soccer field off of Old Concord Road.

The flamingos were bought by local families, and displayed their names, to show support for Abby Von Dyke, the Leukemia patient.

Police learned of the incident when a John Stark United (JSU) soccer director said he last saw the flamingos standing on the lawn when he left practice at around 8 p.m. on Sept. 22.

Von Dyke is a soccer player for JSU. Five of the eight flamingos were taken.
