Late biology professor honored at annual Arbor Day celebration
PLYMOUTH — Close to 50 people gathered on the campus of Plymouth State University Friday morning for their annual Arbor Day celebration.
The university plants a tree every Arbor Day, but this year was a bit different.
The tree celebrated the life of biology professor, Michele Pruyn who passed away after a long illness.
Her colleagues said that she loved trees.
With the help of some preschoolers from the University’s daycare center, Pruyn’s two sons helped with planting the yellow birch on Highland Street, just yards away from where she taught.
