Landrigan: O'Malley says he'll break through despite DNC attempts to favor Clinton

CONCORD - If you’re Democratic presidential contender Martin O’Malley, how are you not frustrated?

"I think they have done most everything they possibly can to not just put a thumb on the scale but to put a foot on the scale,’’ O’Malley said.

Nationally, Hillary Clinton has a huge lead in the race for the Democratic nomination, and Bernie Sanders is the front-runner in New Hampshire.

"Every year we have an inevitable front-runner,’’ O’Malley said. "The good news is that once the voters make their decision, they don’t take their orders from Debbie Wasserman Schutz or anyone at the DNC.’’

He's had 15 years of executive experience, running the state of Maryland and Baltimore - its most challenging city.

"I’m not a divider," he said. "I bring people together to get things done."

O’Malley insisted he’s the most vocal and consistent supporter of gun control.

"And you know what, I’ve never met a self-respecting hunter who needed an AR-15 or a submachine gun to down a deer. Have you?’’ he asked rhetorically.

O’Malley is right.

Candidates have come from far behind to win New Hampshire, but he’s got to overcome, not one - but two front-runners to do it in 50 days.
