Landrigan: Hassan to make sure NH concealed gun permits aren't going anywhere

CONCORD - The state’s powerful gun lobby wins big but loses an even more significant one today.

The House votes to repeal a permit to carry a concealed gun but Gov. Maggie Hassan says she’ll veto it.

Clai Lasher of Westmoreland was shot by her grandfather and severely injured 40 years ago.

"It’s endless the repercussions that occur across society when you have someone shot," she said.

Supporters maintain law-abiding gun owners should not need permission to carry a gun to protect themselves.

House and Senate votes for this bill fall short of the two-thirds majority needed to overcome a Hassan veto.
