LaconiaFest concert series could bring larger crowds for Motorcycle Week

LACONIA - The addition of the LaconiaFest concert series during the 93rd annual Laconia Motorcycle Week could bring larger crowds and many newcomers, organizers and safety officials said.

Among the big name artists is New Hampshire hero Steven Tyler as well as Ted Nugent and Bret Michaels.

"We're not sure how many new people that will bring into the area or if it's just going to be normal attendees," said Laconia Police Chief Chris Adams.

The police department traditionally works in coordination with State Police and is supported by officers from several departments.

Traffic could be impacted by the concert series, but for now police have no plans to change normal Motorcycle Week traffic patterns.

"We're going to learn as the week progresses and if we need to change the traffic pattern or add more officers we'll do that," Chief Adams said.

The department plans on being active on social media and will use news outlets to keep the public informed if traffic or safety is an issue.
