Laconia woman killed in Belmont crash
BELMONT - Police said a Laconia woman was killed in a crash in Belmont.
It happened around 8:15 p.m. Monday. Belmont emergency responders were dispatched to a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash on Hurricane Road.
Police and firefighters arrived at the scene and located a 2001 Saturn S-series sedan on its roof, off the roadway into a snowbank. Three of the people in the car were able to get out themselves and were standing on the side of the road. Emergency personnel couldn't resuscitate Angela Chubbuck, 39, of Laconia. The vehicle was owned by Chubbuck.
The other people in the car, including the driver, were treated at two different hospitals and are expected to survive.
Hurricane Road was closed for a number of hours late into the evening while officers worked the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The driver of the vehicle was identified by police as Peter Colson, 58, of Church Street, Laconia. Police said Colson was cooperative with investigators. He submitted to a preliminary breath test shortly after the crash, which showed no measurable amount of alcohol in his system.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or may have information related to the crash, to contact Detective Eliza Gustafson at the Belmont Police Department at (603) 267-8350.
