Laconia woman crashes into parked police cruiser on I-93

NORTHFIELD- A parked state police cruiser was struck by a passing car early Friday morning.

Melanie Whitten, 43, of Laconia was traveling northbound on Interstate 93 when her 2013 Toyota Camry drifted right, striking the stationary cruiser.

The cruiser was being operated by Trooper First Class Charles George.

Whitten was transported to Franklin Regional Hospital with minor injuries, as was George to Concord Regional Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by the state police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R. Unit).
