Laconia woman charged with DUI after police say she flipped her car into a local backyard

LACONIA - Police called to a reported disturbance early Thursday morning found a car that had flipped over in a back yard on Belvidere Street and the driver missing.

The original call reported a woman screaming before getting into a car and driving off towards Elm Street. When police arrived, they found a car that had hit a tree and flipped over into the backyard at 222 Belvidere St.

After a brief search of the area and visiting the home of the car's registered owner, they located Jillian Vallee, 20, of 57 North St. in Laconia. Police say Vallee admitted to being involved in the accident.

She was charged with aggravated driving under the influence after testing twice over the legal limit for alcohol in her blood, police said. She was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Laconia District Court on Jan. 7.
