Laconia's Prescott Farm to open 'Natural Playscape' outdoor nature park for kids

LACONIA — If your children like the outdoors, you may want to check out Prescott Farm's new "Natural Playscape" scheduled to open this summer.

According to the Laconia Citizen, Director of Marketing and Administration Kimberly Drouin said the park will be a great place to visit for children of all ages. Drouin explained that the idea came about when the farm received a grant in spring 2014 from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

The park allows children to explore and experience the elements of nature designed with hills to climb, dirt for digging, plants to explore and more. Some of the aspects of the playscape will include a “forest kitchen,” tree house, music and loose parts areas, a teepee, hill slides, tree swings and a “fairy house building.”

The grand opening for the Natural Playscape will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 14, and will be located next to the education center at 928 White Oaks Road. For more information visit their website here.
