Laconia Public Library to unveil Harry Potter exhibit, demonstrate link to Renaissance

LACONIA — It turns out that the Harry Potter series is not only entertaining, but also educational.

The Laconia Public Library will host the opening of “Harry Potter’s World: Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine” Tuesday night at 7 p.m. on the upper floor.

The exhibit will demonstrate the Renaissance traditions of alchemy, astrology and natural philosophy as they connect to the fictional series.

Local businesses will be joining in the grand opening’s festivities, including Harry Potter-inspired food served from The Local Eatery, drink specials from Wayfarer Coffee Roaster and treats from the Laconia Village Bakery, among other donations.

The exhibit will be on display through July 15.
