Laconia police presence closes downtown streets closed, people asked to stay indoors


LACONIA - City police have confirmed a large police presence in the area near Church Street.


Police say they have set up a media staging area at the CVS on Union Avenue.

Police said on Twitter that they're trying to arrest an individual.

UPDATE: Police, SWAT team still on 'controlled scene' in Laconia; tear gas deployed

Union Avenue, Jewett Street, and Church Street are closed in the area.

People are asked to stay inside until further notice or leave the area immediately.

Holy Trinity school has been placed in locked down since about 1 p.m.
