Laconia Police keep eye on motorcycle club violence ahead of 92nd Bike Week

LACONIA - Just weeks ahead of the 92nd run of Bike Week in New Hampshire, Laconia Police are keeping an eye on motorcycle gang violence in Waco, Texas.

A brawl between two rival gangs, the Bandidos and the Cossacks left nine dead and 170 arrested. The two clubs do not participate in Laconia Bike Week.

Laconia Police have been in contact with authorities in Waco, and are confident what happened there is isolated to Texas.

Police are preparing to bring in departments from about a dozen other towns to help them keep Laconia safe.

The event will draw about one hundred thousand people to the Lakes Region, and thousands of bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts to Weirs Beach.

Bike Week is scheduled to run June 13-21.
