Laconia Police identify suspect wanted in Tuesday's standoff

LACONIA – Laconia Police have activated an arrest warrant for Robert Audette, who is believed to have threatened a man Tuesday, causing a four-hour standoff.

Laconia Police and the SWAT team responded to Jewett Street around 1 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man threatening another man with a shot gun.

Audette is wanted for felony criminal threatening.

When police entered the Jewett Street apartment, Audette was gone but his shot gun and ammunition were left behind.

The incident closed down streets and put a nearby elementary school on lockdown.
