Laconia man who kidnapped couple at gunpoint gets 2 to 4 year prison sentence


LACONIA — The Laconia man who was arrested for kidnapping a couple last month faces a two- to four-year prison sentence.

David Bickford, 22, was arrested on Aug. 23 and charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of criminal threatening.

He pleaded guilty to the charges on Wednesday, the Laconia Citizen reported. Two consecutive three-and-a-half- to seven-year sentences were imposed on the second kidnapping count and for criminal threatening, but will remain suspended on the condition of good behavior for seven years.
