Laconia man gets 6 years in prison for child pornography
CONCORD (AP) - Federal authorities say a 51-year-old Laconia man has been sentenced to six years in prison for possession of child pornography.
U.S. Attorney John Kacavas says Daniel Petrin was also fined $5,000 this week, will spend 10 years on probation after his release and will have to register as a sex offender.
Authorities began investigating Petrin in 2009 after the FBI got information that he was among several people who bought pornographic images from a person in Italy.
Undercover law enforcement agents in Vermont and Oklahoma traced images detected in a file-sharing network to Petrin.
