LACONIA — The Lakes Region is a popular place on the Fourth of July. Despite that, Laconia officials are saying their annual parade is continuing to struggle.

This year’s Independence Day parade lasted only 12 minutes and 30 seconds, according to the Laconia Daily Sun. One onlooker told the Laconia paper it was “embarrassing.”

The Daily Sun outlined that the parade’s issues have been connected to changing its start time, having difficulty finding a marching band, and firefighters answering calls virtually all day at Weirs Beach and Opechee Park.
