Kidney not on board: NH man seeks organ donor through car sticker
A man identified as "Donald" needs a kidney.
Donald is a retired police officer who served in Amesbury and Newburyport. He got sick with a rare form of gangrene, which left him in a month-long coma. After nine operations, and spending 5 months in the hospital, his doctors told him only three out of 1,000 people survive what he had been through.
Although gangrene may be behind him he is now on dialysis three times a week, and is in need of a kidney. A Facebook page was created to raise awareness for Donald, as well as the bumper sticker.
Beth Israel, of the Kidney Transplant Center in Boston, Massachusetts is handling Donald's case. Contact Tracy Bann who can be reached at 617-632-9851 with information.
