Kevin Landrigan: Ex-Va. Gov. Jim Gilmore returns to NH, prospects for 2016?
A former Virginia governor and front man for pro-free enterprise interest group returns to New Hampshire fueling talk he too could enter the 2016 Republican presidential sweepstakes.
During the mid-term elections, Jim Gilmore was the chief spokesman for Growth PAC that shared his views for pro-free market policies that create jobs, increase wages and expand opportunities for the middle class.
Growth PAC aired radio ads in support of Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown in New Hampshire along with US Sen.-Elect Joni Ernst in Iowa and GOP candidate Ed Gillespie in Virginia.
Gilmore lost his own bid for the US Senate in 2008 to Democrat Mark Warner who defeated Gillespie in November.
The visit starts with remarks to a small group of veterans at the VFW Post in Pelham and he has radio interview with conservative talk show hosts Karen Testerman and Rich Girard.
On Friday, Gilmore also makes a stop at Riley's Gun Shop in Hooksett.
