Keene woman intends to plead guilty in murder-for-hire case
KEENE — A Keene woman who is accused in a murder-for-hire case has filed her intent to plead guilty to lesser charges.
According to the Keene Sentinel, Kerri L. Reason, 25 of Keene, is scheduled to plead guilty next week in Cheshire County Superior Court. According to court documents, Reason is expected to plead guilty to charges of solicitation to commit assault and conspiracy to commit assault.
Keene Detectives arrested Reason on Aug. 31 after they say she texted her ex-husband Casey Incandella, of Connecticut, agreeing to pay him $5,000 to kill her then-boyfriend Timothy Stricker, of Swanzey with whom she shares a toddler. Reason's ex-husband contacted Keene Police who facilitated the texting conversation, where Reason said she would pay, but didn't have the money when he arrived to her house wearing a wire.
Reason initially pleaded not guilty to her charge of solicitation to commit murder in December. Reason’s attorney, Caroline L. Smith of the N.H. Public Defender’s Office, said in court this past fall that Reason suffers from mental health issues, including depression, and anger. She argued that Reason was venting and fantasizing in text messages to Incandella, and that she never meant Stricker any real harm.
