KEENE — A Keene State student was in stable condition on Wednesday after being hit by a car on Lower Main Street.
Abbie Sweatt, 21, of Scarborough, ME suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a 2001 Dodge Stratus, according to the Keene Sentinel. Sweatt was thrown 40 feet and appeared to have suffered a head injury. She was in and out of consciousness at the scene.
Sweatt was taken by ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock for treatment.
The car was operated by Dolores Blanchard, 87, of North Swanzey.
Cemorelis said the cause of the crash remains under investigation and that no charges have been filed yet.
