Keene State placed on temporary lockdown Wednesday morning

KEENE - Keene State Campus Safety ordered students not to leave their buildings at 10:07 a.m. Wednesday morning reporting a domestic incident with a firearm near Main Street and Proctor Court.

The lockdown was lifted at 10:23 a.m. after campus safety reported that a suspect involved in the incident was in custody, just 16 minutes after the lockdown was ordered. Campus safety was notified by Keene Police that they were responding to a domestic dispute between two non-students at a location adjacent to the campus.

Additionally, Keene Police told campus safety that during the incident one shot was fired, and no one was injured. Police went on to say the incident was not college related and no students, faculty or staff were involved.
