Keene Music Festival changes seasons, event moved to October for 2016

KEENE — The Keene Music Festival has changed its' date and will be joining forces with the Monadnock Fall Festival this October.

Earlier this summer, Director Kevin Dremel posted on Facebook that the musical festival would not be taking place in September due to financial restrictions, the Keene Sentinel reports.

Last year the music festival ended in a deficit. The new festival will cost about $20,000 and will take place during parent/family weekend at Keene State College.

The festival is still awaiting approval from the City Council on street closures, which is the last step before it's set to go.

The festival is scheduled to take place on Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the location pending the upcoming vote.
