Keene man injured in Caribbean boating accident, airlifted to Boston hospital

The Associated Press

KEENE (AP) — Police say a Keene man was seriously injured in a boating accident in the Caribbean.

Jon Binney was heading to the Saint Martin shore in a dingy Wednesday when he was hit by a speedboat and dragged underneath.

Binney's daughter says the boat was going about 30 mph. It stopped when someone realized that he was being dragged.

Binney was taken to a hospital with severe injuries including four broken ribs, a shattered pelvis and two fractured shoulder blades.

He was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after it was determined that his injuries were too complex to be treated at the Caribbean hospital.

It's not clear what his current condition is.
