Keene man found guilty of kicking, killing dog gets no jail time


JAFFREY — The Keene man found guilty of animal cruelty after kicking and killing an elderly Pomeranian mix was given a suspended sentence.

Toby D. Tousley, 55, was found guilty on June 23 after he claimed that he had kicked the dog because he was afraid he was about to be bitten. He was given a 60-day jail sentence, suspended for two years pending good behavior on Tuesday, reported the Union Leader.

Tousley was also ordered to complete 100 hours of community service before Jan. 31 and is prohibited from owning any domestic pets until he can complete an anger evaluation. He must pay restitution to the dog's owners of $314.14 as well.
