Keene butcher shop closes under scrutiny of city health department

Recent complaints about conditions in a Keene butcher shop brought on a city health inspection that led to the closure of the business.

The Keene Sentinel reported that Paul's Choice, the Court Street meat market, has temporary closed by its owners.

The city health department found unsanitary conditions linked to its meat processing. The owners decided to close to address issues because most of its business comes from the butcher operation.

Bikash Maharjan and his business partner Radhe Shyam KC indicated to the Sentinel that the business had funding issues that affected employee pay and rent.
