Keene airport testing noise as part of environmental assessment

KEENE — Dillant-Hopkins Airport conducted noise testing as part of an environmental assessment on Wednesday.

An acoustical consulting firm performed sound trials on the north end of the airport property to test airport noise in reference to the potential removal of trees, John G. Wozmak, manager of the Keene-owned airport, told the Keene Sentinel.

The tests involved white noise played over a loudspeaker to measure the sound level in the airport-bordering forest.

All testing was done on airport property, but residents living nearby may have been able to hear it.
