Kearsarge Regional High students evacuated as school officials report bomb scare

SUTTON - Students at the Kearsarge Regional High School were evacuated Friday to the middle school in response to a bomb scare.

Parents were notified and asked not to come to either school at this time.

The following notice was posted on the school district website:

We have received a bomb scare at our high school. We have consulted with the Sutton Police and have been advised to evacuate all students. We have notified parents via ALERT NOW

We ask parents to not go to the high school or middle school at this time. We will keep you updated as events unfold.

Assistant Superintendent Pam Stiles said State Police are searching the school and if it is found to be safe, students will be transported back.

She said it is too early to tell how they will handle dismissal for the day.

Once that decision is made, the school will send an alert out to parents letting them know.
