NASHUA - A Nashua mother accused of killing her young daughter appeared in court today.
25-year-old Katlyn Marin is accused of assaulting 3-year-old Brielle Gage several times over two days back in November. An autopsy showed that Gage died from blunt force injuries.
Today bail was not set and Marin will reappear in court on Jan. 13 for a probable cause hearing.
Neighbors say an ongoing custody battle has caused police presence at the home, and that there are fears for the other children's well-being that are still in Marin's custody.
"The 3-year-old daughter's biological father was trying to get her at full custody so my thinking with how society has changed, is the mom may have felt, ‘well if I can't have her, no one can,' " said neighbor Clara Levesque.
