Jury trial set for fatal Portsmouth beating at The Page bar

PORTSMOUTH — A jury trial is now scheduled for the federal civil suit filed by the parents of now-deceased Joshua Kranz, against The Page bar.

Joshua Kranz suffered a fractured skull that resulted in his death at age 24. The injury was inflicted by Zachary O'Neill April 5, 2013 while he and Kranz were at The Page restaurant and bar, according to Seacoast Online.

The restaurant has since closed but Kranz's parents now seek damages from the owners.

The trial will take place during a two-week period beginning Oct. 3, 2017.

The complaint by the parents cites 11 alleged Liquor Commission infractions and claims The Page was warned by the state Liquor Commission 10 times prior to the event. The parent's claim The Page "allowed an unsafe, dangerous and reckless environment to exist."
