Jury finds James Robarge guilty of killing wife

NEWPORT - A jury in Newport has convicted a man of killing his 42-year-old wife and dumping her body in the woods on the day she filed for divorce.

James Robarge, of Saxtons River, Vt., denied killing Kelly Robarge, but the Sullivan County Superior Court jury convicted him Wednesday of second-degree murder.

Kelly Robarge filed for divorce after more than 20 years of marriage on June 27, 2013 - the day she disappeared from her Charlestown home. She texted a friend that her husband was at the house and that she was going to tell him about the divorce filing.

Her badly decomposed body was found 10 days later in Unity.

The 45-year-old Robarge faces up to life in prison without the chance of parole.
