June 3 is New Hampshire Day - let's celebrate

National Donut Day might be getting most of the headlines on Friday, but June 3 has another meaning for those of us in the Granite State.

June 3 (6/03) is New Hampshire Day, of course!

Here and NH1, we're taking today to remember what makes our state great.

Founded on June 21, 1788, not only was New Hampshire one of the first 13 colonies in the United States, but it is home to the Old Man of the Mountain, the Kancamagus Highway, Mount Washington, Laconia's Bike Week, the Merrimack River and much more.

Most places in the state are driving distance to the ocean, lakes, and the mountains which provides opportunity for outdoor activities all 12 months of the year.

What more could you ask for? We've got it all right here at home.

Now we're asking you, what is your favorite part of New Hampshire? Send us your photos to or post your photos and stories on the NH1 News Network Facebook page!
