Jazzmyn Rood faces trial date in April for role in daughter Eve Tarmey's overdose death

CONCORD - Jazzymn Rood appeared in federal court Tuesday.

As she stood before the judge, her legal council asked to place her in an outpatient facility or grant her permission to stay with a friend until her trial date.

Both requests were denied, and the judge encouraged her to take preliminary steps to seek treatment while she is being detained.

Rood’s attorney reiterated that she has been taking anger management courses, participated in AA and is attending spiritual classes.

Rood’s trial date is set for April 5.
