Jackson police chief resigns after being put on administrative leave

JACKSON — Chief of Police Douglas Jette has resigned from the department following administrative leave.

Jackson selectmen made the announcement early Tuesday, reported the Conway Daily Sun. The departure comes after Jette was put on administrative leave as a result of a staff member's accusation of inappropriate conduct.

The selectmen did not disclose why Jette resigned, citing privacy laws. The selectman also announced Jette's second-in-command has been placed on paid administrative leave.
