Jackson police chief on administrative leave during investigation of 'inappropriate conduct'

Douglas Jette, Jackson Police Chief, was placed on administrative leave as as a result of a staff members accusation of inappropriate conduct according to the Conway Daily Sun.

Selectmen Bob Thompson told the Sun in an interview that the department has "placed Chief Jette on paid administrative leave."

Thompson said Jette, 50, was being put on leave pending the results of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office and County Attorney's Office's investigation.

Jette was put on leave last week, and Thompson does not know how long it will last.

"It's not our investigation," he said.

He said the board of selectmen would begin with a non-public session at 3 p.m. at the town office on Thursday.

The agenda include a discussion about the investigation into the allegations against Jette.
