#IWishMyTeacherKnew lesson plan by Denver teacher sparks national conversation

Kyle Schwartz teaches third-grade at Doull Elementary in Denver's Harvey Park neighborhood.

Most of the children in her classroom are hispanic with 92 percent qualifying for free or reduced lunch.

Schwartz wanted to get to know her students better so she decided she would create a lesson called "I wish my teacher knew."

She was surprised by some of the things they wrote down, so she took to twitter posting the photos with the hashtag #iwishmyteacherknew.

Here is a look at some of her tweets.

Some of the letters are heartbreaking and have sparked a coversation around the country. Other teachers are now participating and posting photos of their own.

This shows how much kids are going through at such a young age.
