CONCORD - “You know you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her whatever,” Donald Trump said about Megyn Kelly.
Now, NH voters are talking about Trump's comments and his stance on women.
“Men have hormones too. To say that a woman can’t be in a leadership role because she has her period is just ridiculous,” said Kia Sinclair of Manchester.
“Obviously he doesn’t respect or know what it’s like to be a woman,” said Samantha Gleason.
Trump is standing by his language, saying “I said nothing wrong whatsoever. Do you think I’d make a stupid statement like that? Who would do that? Only a sick person would even think about it."
But some say it could just be a campaign tactic.
“It’s like the Kardashians. They do stuff to get attention,” said Albery Pereault of Manchester.
But NH1 News asked, "Is that okay for someone who wants to run our country to say stuff just to get reaction?"
“They all lie to us. They all say what we want to hear,” said Pereault.
Trump's campaign said there is no more to comment on.
But was it somehow done on purpose? Goal achieved, we’re still talking trump after his was disinvited to Atlanta and, days after, Cleveland.
“I think almost to say that, that is his campaign plan, to stay in the media but create as much of a distraction from what other people might deem as real issues,” said Barry Lewandowski of Bedford.
Women in his own party in New Hampshire aren’t too happy with Trump.
“These are demeaning comments have no place in politics and do not reflect the principals of the Republican Party,” said Jennifer Horn, Chairman of the New Hampshire Republican public party. “I was offended and I think a lot of women across New Hampshire find these comments unacceptable.”
