Is Laconia a lock to replace Keene for NH Pumpkin Festival?

It appears Laconia could be in line to land the N.H. Pumpkin Festival this year.

The city made it clear it wanted the festival since the announcement Keene would not renew the license.

Multiple communities expressed interest including Nashua, Portsmouth, Franklin, Claremont, Exeter, Hampton Beach, Loudon, Peterborough, Rindge, Spooky World in Litchfield, Cheshire Fairgrounds in Swanzey and the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

For a while, Nashua made a heavy play to host the festival. But it appeared over the weekend that it was out of the running.

That's because Laconia seemed to lock it up after Laconia's Ward 4 City Councilor Brenda Baer said expects the matter to unveiled at the council’s April 27 meeting.

Will Laconia be a great replacement?
