'Iron Cowboy' to run NH triathlon as part of 50 Ironman races in 50 days challenge
CLAREMONT - 50 triathlons in 50 days in all 50 states may seem impossible, right?
Well, James Lawrence is more than halfway to completing that goal.
On Tuesday, Lawrence completed his 31st Ironman Triathlon in Rhode Island, and on Wednesday he will be in New Hampshire competing in his 32nd race.
The Ironman races require participants to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run a full marathon at the end.
A crew filming his incredible feat for a documentary has named him the 'Iron Cowboy.'
If he completes the challenge, by the end of the 50 days, Lawrence will have swam a total of 120 miles, biked over 5,600 miles and ran 1,310 miles.
Lawrence began the challenge on June 7 in Alaska and plans to finish in his home state of Utah on July 25.
Lawrence's N.H. Ironman will begin Wednesday morning at 6 a.m. at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center.
