Iraq officials: Baghdad car bomb kills 17 people

BAGHDAD (AP) Iraqi police officials say a car bomb on a busy commercial street in Baghdad has killed at least 17 people and wounded 35.

The officials say the car detonated in the eastern Sadr City neighborhood.

Hospital officials confirmed the casualty figures.

All of the officials spoke anonymously as they are not authorized to brief the media.
