Investigation into NH substance misuse recovery program closed
CONCORD — The New Hampshire Department of Justice has concluded its investigation into Friends of Recovery NH-DBA Hope for New Hampshire Recovery.
The office has reviewed allegations made by former employees as well as those reported by media. They determined that none of the allegations rise to the level of criminal conduct committed, closing the investigation.
The allegations included that the organization mismanaged funds and that high-up employees engaged in verbal abuse, New Hampshire Public Radio reported.
The Department of Justice's Charitable Trust Unit, whose role is to protect the public's interest in the property and assets committed to charitable purposes in the state through effective registration, education and enforcement, will be reaching out to offer assistance and guidance with respect to the governance of the organization.
