Inspirational online robot hilariously fails at its only job
The famous Terminator movies showed the world how dangerous artificial intelligence (AI) could become as humanity's technology devises truly sentient robots (and how Arnold Schwarzenegger acts exactly like a robot).
However, AI still has a very long way to go if the new InspiroBot has anything to say about it.
According to its own description, InspiroBot is "an artificial intelligence dedicated to generating unlimited amounts of unique inspirational quotes for endless enrichment of pointless human existence."
In more human terms, this means the AI creates random semi-inspirational quotes like "Hang in there" and sets it over a cool, generic background image like a cat hanging from a tree.
Unfortunately for InspiroBot, its inventor did not seem to understand the concept of inspirational quotes... or rational thought. Most of the quotes and generated images leave viewers laughing or just downright confused rather than encouraged to tackle life's problems.
Enough with all this technical mumbo-jumbo though, we know why you are here; you want to see some of the most egregious examples of the AI gone wrong. NH1 is here to deliver with our favorite choices for demotivating, odd or legitimately dark posters from InspiroBot.
Let's kick this list off with the darkest, most depressing "inspirational" poster we have ever seen:
The dramatic image of a drowning body with a quote about injustice causing a ship to sink tops the list for most gruesome imagery and word combination.
The next few drew a lot of laughter around the office here at NH1 because of the lack of cohesive thought delivered by InspiroBot.
And finally, the centerpiece to the utter nonsense we experienced with this AI has to be the final poster below:
If you learned anything from this article, we hope it is that vegetables are a danger to art exhibits around the world, and someone needs to put a stop to the madness.
Wait, ignore that last sentence. Sorry, InspiroBot's AI must have invaded this article itself to write that because it makes less than zero sense.
If you want to try this broken bot for yourself, check out the website and send us your best (or worst) inspirational quotes and you might see them on the NH1 Twitter page!
