MANCHESTER - A man who tried to flee custody briefly on Thursday is back behind bars.
Fifty-year-old Kevin Gearhart is back in jail after escaping from the Hillsborough County House of Corrections in Manchester.
Police say he tried to enter a parked car at RST Automotive on Valley Street but was scared off by the owner. Gearhart then allegedly tried to steal a car parked at the pumps of prime gas while the owners was inside the store.
Gearhart was arraigned on escape and attempted theft charges. His bail has been set to $15,000.
