Inmate went missing from Manchester minimum security prison for hour and a half
MANCHESTER — An inmate was reported missing from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit on Wednesday.
The inmate was identified as Steven Michael Forest, 45, of Concord. Forest left the facility just before 5 a.m. and reported to work. He was scheduled to return at 3 p.m. but ended up leaving work around 12:30 p.m. He did not return and was placed on escape status. Forest did however return to the facility at 2:10 but officials are investigating where he was for that time.
Forest will be returned to the New Hampshire State Prison for questioning. Escape is a Class-B felony and can he could face between 3½ - 7 years of prison.
