DOVER — The Strafford County Sheriff's office is investigating the untimely death of an inmate at the county jail on Tuesday.

Sheriff David Dubois said the man was found dead around 1:42 p.m. The death is not considered suspicious or a suicide, but the body has been sent to the Medical Examiner.

An autopsy is planned on Wednesday. No information was being released about the name, age or circumstances of the inmate. Dubois said his office wanted first to notify next of kin.

The death remains under investigation, he said.
