Injured hiker near Mount Monadnock rescued using an ATV

JAFFREY - A Peterborough woman was injured hiking the Birchtoft Trail near Gilson Pond around noon on Sunday.

N.H. Fish and Game conservation officers say Carolyn Grisafi, 52, injured her lower leg. Mount Monadnock park personnel were able to reach her and stabilize her injured leg.

Conservation officers then used an ATV to transport her to the trail head, and her hiking companion drove her to a hospital for treatment.
