Injured hiker carried down Mt. Monadnock
JAFFREY — An injured hiker had to be carried down Mount Monadnock after she fell down a steep section of the trail Wednesday.
N.H. Fish and Game said they received a report of an injured hiker in need of assistance on the White Dot Trail at about 2:00 p.m.
Officials said Jordyn Trapilo, 18 of Norwell, Massachusetts, was descending the mountain with friends when she lost her footing on a steep section of the trail and injured her lower leg. She was unable to continue hiking and had to be carried down the mountain by Mt. Monadnock Park personnel and volunteers.
Rescue crews arrived back at park headquarters around 6:00 p.m. and Trapilo was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
