Drinking, driving, texting and road conditions were studied throughout the country and the results relating to teens behind the wheel kept the New England states deep into the list of safest states for teen drivers, according to a popular financial website.
New Hampshire landed at the No. 23 spot in WalletHub's list of safest states for teen drivers.
Rhode Island was the top New England state at 12. Massachusetts came in at 13, Connecticut 15, Maine 26 and Vermont 39.
New York ranked No. 1.
New Hampshire had the fifth highest insurance premium increase after adding a teen driver to a policy.
Rhode Island had the fewest teen driver fatalities through the overall teen population.
