Icy conditions on I-89 lead to multiple crashes, road closed for 2 hours Friday
LEBANON - More than a dozen cars lost control on the ice on Interstate 89 near the Vermont border on Friday night, leading state police to close the road for two hours.
State police say a snow squall and freezing temperatures made for hazardous road conditions between exits 15 and 17 on the northbound side of the road.
One of the vehicles involved was an ambulance that was hit by another vehicle. Several people suffered minor injuries and were taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.
State police say several drivers were issued summonses for driving too fast for the conditions. The road was treated by the N.H. Department of Transportation and reopened.
