Ice melts on Norway pond for Hancock 'Ice Out' Contest

HANCOCK - The ice is melting on Norway pond, and it melted just enough Wednesday to crack the ice for Hancock's 'Ice Out' contest.

The town has come up with a cool way to endure the winter month's by putting a wooden replica of the town's meeting house on the ice.

People buy tickets to guess what day the ice will melt.

April 15 is this year's winning ticket. Last year the ice melted on April 16. We are still waiting to hear who is this year's winner and how much money was raised.

The contest is in its third year.
