I-293 northbound on-ramp at exit 4 in Manchester to open

MANCHESTER — The I-293 northbound on-ramp at exit 4 in Manchester will open Saturday, weather permitting.

Once the northbound on-ramp is opened, I-293 northbound and southbound milling and paving operations are scheduled to begin the week of October 31, 2016, weather permitting, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announced.

This work will include daytime lane closures, which will be announced via message boards, construction signage and state police.

This work is part of the I-293 widening and bridge replacement project in the area of Exit 4. The project includes the replacement of four bridges and the rehabilitation of one bridge at the I-293 Exit 4 Interchange.

The roadwork has included construction of a third southbound lane, beginning approximately 150 feet north of the existing northbound on-ramp and continuing approximately 0.6 mile south; Exit 4 ramps reconstruction and pavement rehabilitation; sound wall construction; drainage improvements; water line reconstruction; installation of concrete median barrier; and guardrail improvements.

Severino Trucking Inc., of Candia, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $26.2 million project, which has a completion date of Nov. 18.
